The opportunity for personal growth shows itself everyday in our lives. As a therapist, I am\u00a0blessed to work with people who desire a better relationship with themselves.\u00a0We are called to help others, guide others, nurture, challenge and support.\u00a0Our natural tendency to learn and want to grow is always in play and\u00a0hard to turn off. Our own\u00a0growth as therapists\u00a0plays an important role in our ability to provide help to others.<\/p>\n
Recently,\u00a0I have been challenged over and over again about my beliefs and paradigms.\u00a0Some challenges have been painful, required a lot of patience and understanding on my part. What I learned in my 20s and 30s is very different from this decade of growth. Some challenges\u00a0have been around\u00a0life changes that are out of my\u00a0control such as health, death, and loss. Losing my father, a few beloved pets, and other physical life changes pushed me into a path that I did not want to particularly travel….but, it happens,\u00a0whether I want it or not. I have stood at the\u00a0edge of a cliff;\u00a0the scenery was beautiful, but also terrifying in some ways. I had to put one foot in front of the other, take care, and start learning.<\/p>\n
Diving into the realm of awareness helps me remember who I am and what I am made of…I am constantly learning that all\u00a0of life’s\u00a0lessons allow me to move me\u00a0through\u00a0stages of processing to help with an answer, a relationship, a dream. I become\u00a0somehow, more self-differentiated. Understanding that my personal awareness helps me to be honest with myself, introspective, and mentally present in life\u00a0is a huge gift. A gift that has provided so much love, appreciation, and hope.<\/p>\n
I am grateful for the people who have taken the dive into the unknown, to be challenged…who want to grow. It’s not an\u00a0easy journey. It is hard to trust, to believe, and to be aware of what we cannot see. Challenges are opportunities to grow. We all face them. How\u00a0we define those moments can make the difference between being hopeful or hopeless. I wish for hope for all of you. Take the plunge!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
